Our mission

It is the mission of Jewel Charity to provide for the health and well-being of the patients at Cook Children’s.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit member organization, Jewel Charity Members invite individuals, corporations and foundations to become Angel Donors and join us in providing world-class pediatric health care to every child in our community, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

Why Jewel Charity?

$83 million

As Cook Children’s largest donor organization, we are proud to have given more than $83 million to support the health and well-being of every child in our community, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

72 years

In 1953, Nenetta Burton Carter and Billie Bransford Clark founded Jewel Charity with desire to provide health care to all children in their community. Today, Jewel Charity stands as one of the most respected charity organizations in Fort Worth.

1 mission

The focus of our efforts has never wavered: For 72 years, Cook Children’s has remained our sole beneficiary, allowing the generosity of our members, Angels, sponsors and friends to make a greater impact than would be possible if divided between organizations.

Jewel Charity has never wavered in our commitment to Cook Children’s and the children who are served by that wonderful medical center. I love that, like guardian angels, we love and support those children through everything we do at Jewel Charity.
— Susan Medina, Jewel Charity Member
